The Musée Marmottan Monet (Marmottan Monet museum) is situated in the 16th district of Paris. He is in the number 2 of the street Louis Boilly, very close to the garden of Ranelagh, and he is served by the subway station "The mute", or by the RER C, in the stop "Boulainvilliers". You will also find public parking lots nearby. The Musée Marmottan, became later Musée Marmottan Monet and is the museum of the fine arts sheltering the biggest collection to the world of works of the impressionistic painter Claude Monet. It is originally the former hunting lodge which belongs to Duke de Valmy. He is bought in 1882 by Jules Marmottan, whose son Paul will transform him later into mansion and will install his collection of paintings and works of art First Empire there. In his death in 1932, he decided to gave on the set to the Academy of Arts, and the mansion so becomes "Musée Marmottan". In 1957, the museum inherits thanks to his daughter Victorine Donop de Monchy, of the collection of one of the first amateurs of the impressionistic paint: doctor Georges of Bellio who was besides the doctor of the biggest painters of the time: Manet, Renoir, Pissaro, Monet and Sisley. In 1966, the Parisian museum receives this time in donation on behalf of one of his sons, an important collection of Claude Monet's paintings, by making the biggest collection Monet of the museums of the whole world. A new room is then built by the architect Jacques Carlu, to welcome the rich collection. In 1987, it is the works of the collector Henri Duhem, the painter himself, and fascinated by his contemporaries who come to complete the bottom. In 1996, the museum creates a foundation at the request of Annie Rouart, which allows to complete collections with new works of Degas and Renoir among others. Since then, the collections of the Musée Marmottan Monet keep regularly growing rich subsidies and legacy of generous benefactors. Numerous temporary exhibitions are regularly organized there. We could recently discover to it "Camille Pissaro, the first one of the impressionists" as considered it Paul Cezanne.
